A message from Cllr Iris Coton
I am the current nominee to this foundation.
Currently, I am the Chairman.
This long-standing charity exists to help with the education of young people aged 16-25 years where the combined family income is below £35,000 / annum.
The recipients must live in Yeovil Without or a number of surrounding parishes such as Yeovil Town, Mudford, Chilthorne Domer, East Coker, West Coker, Limington, Barwick and Brympton.
Grants continued to be made in 2020. A total of £7,400 was distributed to seven recipients. Once awarded, the trust endeavours to maintain a level of support throughout the young person’s course but the amount may vary depending on the number of applicants and the funds available from investments.
I have asked the parish clerk to advertise this year’s grant round on our website. This year, the final date for applications this year is 31st August. Application forms can be obtained from Amanda Goddard at Batten’s Mansion House, Princes Street, Yeovil. ( 01935 846225).
